One of the best value wines in Bordeaux, Ronan by Clinet is crafted by Ronan Laborde, owner of the renowned Château Clinet in Pomerol and a multiple 100-point winemaker. Featured by Decanter as a 'Top 5 Below £20', and praised by GQ as 'the most extraordinary value red under the sun', the project was further elevated in 2015 with the construction of a dedicated winery in the heart of Pomerol, managing every stage from grape reception to bottling.

WINEMAKING

Crafted in an approachable, early-drinking style, Ronan by Clinet 2020 is vinified with gentle extraction to preserve fruit purity and ensure soft, mouth-coating tannins. The emphasis is on precision and balance, resulting in a supple, polished wine with a seductive, immediately appealing profile, designed to drink beautifully from 2025 to 2029. 14.5%

TASTING NOTE

Aromas of forest berries, black pepper and graphite. In the mouth, its texture is soft and nicely balanced. The flavors of ripe and sweet fruit alongside peppermint and brown sugar make it a complex and charming wine. The finish is intense and long.

In 1901, Benoni Mansard, based in Cerseuil, in the Marne Valley, produced the first vintages. His great-grandson, Gilles Mansard, took over the family business in 1986 and is now joined by his son, Maxime. The family owns 24 hectares of vineyards and 18th-century cellars in Épernay.
